Professional musician and educator Aaron Krerowicz graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Theory and Composition in 2008, from Boston University with a Master’s of Music in Composition, and from the University of Hartford with a Graduate Artist Diploma in 2012. His professional expertise lies in the music of the Beatles, a subject on which he has lectured extensively across the nation. His first Beatles book, The Beatles & The Avant-Garde is scheduled for publication in November of 2014. Outside of the Beatles, he also specializes in the history of rock ‘n’ roll, music theory, piano pedagogy, baseball, origami, and astronomy.

Aaron is available for private and semi-private piano/keyboard lessons, which take place at his home in Hartford. Private lesson rates are $25 for 30 minutes, $50 for one hour. Semi-private rates vary with the number of students; please email Aaron at music@collegeprepexpress.com.

Basic Music Theory

This nine-week course will cover the basics of music theory, required for all music majors and minors. Topics will include intervals, building different chords, chord progressions, and part writing. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to test out of Music Theory 101 at the collegiate level. Save tuition dollars by getting a head start!

This nine-week course will cover the basics of ear training, required for all music majors and minors. We will learn to recognize different intervals and chords just by listening, and we’ll learn to use our singing voices as a musical tool to connect our ears to our brains. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to test out of Ear Training 101 at the collegiate level. Save tuition dollars by getting a head start!

American Music

Three genres of music are distinctly American in origin: Jazz, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Rap. This three-part series will discuss all three genres in chronological order, detailing how they originated and evolved, and explaining why they are uniquely American. Students may register for a single session, any two of the sessions, or all three sessions, with a discount offered when registering for all three.
